Herefordshire School Games

The date for the Herefordshire School Games has been set for July 4th 2012. Taking place at a number of sites across the City, the event will bring together young people from 5 - 19 in a festival of sport.

The day will have a mixture of competitive events in a variety of sporting activities. Some will be Herefordshire finals where the young people will have competed to win the right to fight to challenge to be Herefordshire county champions. Other competitions will bring together schools who wish to compete against other schools in a format to see who is the best on the day.

Remember July 4th 2012 - Herefordshire's pre Olympic event for young people!

Update May 2012

Leadership Training

2 days of leadership training for young people has now been completed. The young people were introduced to the role of Team Manager and its roles and responsibilities. With great support from sport National Governing Bodies, over 40 young people undertook leadership training in Trigolf, Rounders,Rugby, Cricket and Tennis. These young people will be central to the running of the herefordshire School Games on July 4th.


Competitions in sports such as football, tennis and cricket are underway with the finalists coming through to the Herefordshire School Games. Entries are coming in fast for the participation element of the day.

Cultural Competition

A central part of the Herefordshire School Games is the cultural component. The deadline for entries into the Herefordshire School Games Cultural Competition in art, music, English and DT is June 1st. Pleease make sure that your entries are sent to Whitecross High School in Hereford.
